There are lilacs and there are Kolesnikov lilacs in the Kremlin. Named after Leonid Kolesnikov who propagated over 300 varieties in mid XX century, they were introduced to the Kremlin gardens in 1953 and delight visitors every May ever since. All beautiful, some just extraordinary, each flower up to an inch in size. Love it.
Ах, если бы фотографии передавали аромат. Кремлевские сады снова радуют великолепной коллекцией селекционной сирени (спасибо, Леонид Колесников). И не насмотреться, и не надышаться. Обожаю майскую Москву.
